The Benefits of Fishing with a Professional Guide

Are you hesitating to take the plunge for a fishing trip with a guide, for yourself, a child, or a friend?

This page should, I hope, answer your questions on this subject.

The fishing guide is not like any other fisherman. While the "average" angler spends a day per week by the water, the fishing guide is there at least 5 days a week, meaning more than 250 days a year. He is probably the most passionate of all anglers because he has decided to share his knowledge and passion with all audiences!

Indeed, as a sports educator (and in my case also an environmental educator, as I am also a graduate of a BTS in Management and Protection of Nature), I am trained in pedagogy for all possible audiences. Adult, child, man, woman, elderly, or disabled, I adapt to anyone who wants to learn or improve in fishing, particularly through the choice of techniques and fishing routes.

The fishing guide has many years of fishing experience and therefore demonstrates a level of excellence in the practice of this sport, which has been verified and validated by the BPJEPS sports educator's jury mention "leisure fishing", at the beginning and end of training, through reliable tests validated by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Indeed, in France, it is not possible to practice this profession without this famous diploma, and this is fortunate. This ensures that those benefiting from the guidance of the fishing guide are supervised safely with quality pedagogical inputs.

Regarding the routes specifically, every angler, beginner or experienced, knows the difficulty of finding good "spots" where fish are plentiful and knowing how to fish them.

I therefore ensure, whenever I have free time, to spend it conducting this constant research to guarantee you fish in areas rich in fish and know how to catch them. This time spent by the water allows for an excellent understanding of the environments and the behavior of fish, which are probably the two most important and exciting aspects of our favorite sport, and which, as a fishing guide and Nature educator, I am delighted to teach you.

As a local fishing guide, I have an intimate knowledge of our region, its secrets, and its hidden treasures. Whether you are passionate about fishing or simply eager to discover the wonders of our little corner of paradise, I can offer you much more than just an excursion. With in-depth expertise on the geographical, tourist, gastronomic, and cultural specifics of our region, I will guide you through breathtaking landscapes, reveal unique tourist sites, and immerse you in the richness of our cultural heritage. Whether you are an avid fishing enthusiast or a curious traveler, let me show you the hidden treasures of our region and offer you an unforgettable experience, far from the beaten path.

What benefits for which audience?

The beginner will find a way to learn quickly without risking making mistakes or starting with unreliable foundations. Many guides will tell you, a trip with one of us often means avoiding several years of difficult fishing and saving thousands of euros on poor quality equipment. This allows you to learn more quickly to observe the environment and spot the information that helps in catching fish, to find good fishing spots, to have appropriate technique from the start, to know the different safety points essential for fishing practice, and of course to behave as a responsible angler, respecting the sites, the fish, the users...

A fishing trip with a guide is also the best way to introduce a child to fishing. Indeed, for this audience, it is better to prioritize either very active fishing or fishing where bites are numerous. During these sessions, I ensure that children are offered introductions allowing them to quickly move towards autonomy so that they can be independent in their practice as quickly as possible. The fishing guide must above all be an entertainer; I ensure, of course, a good mood during fishing and the creation of successful situations for the child to guarantee them an unforgettable experience... and the desire to go fishing again!

The benefits of fishing on young audiences are well established. It brings patience, concentration, dexterity, strategy, knowledge of nature, in short, everything we would like to see develop in a child and that we often have difficulty bringing in otherwise. Having been a hyperactive child myself, it is often very amusing for me to see the reactions of parents amazed to see their child calm and focused for several hours for the first time!

These benefits are also seen in children with learning difficulties, who find here a calming environment and situations of success that school does not always offer them. Many children manage to find here the self-confidence that they may sometimes struggle to acquire.

Contrary to what many may think, fishing is an entirely adaptable hobby for people with disabilities.

Indeed, fishing guides are trained to supervise any audience in any place and any structure. I will be delighted to offer you outings adapted to your needs, in a safe environment and with the good humor that characterizes me. Through the choice of sites and techniques, you will realize that it is perfectly possible to practice fishing while living with a disability in many cases.

Finally, the skills of the fishing guide fortunately do not only apply to beginner fishermen.

Indeed, the most experienced angler can benefit from the guide's expertise to avoid a significant amount of research time, which can be important when arriving on holiday in an unknown area, for example, to find the lures adapted to the fishing routes, or simply to have all the information in hand to fish serenely and efficiently. Moreover, fishing is one of those magnificent activities where even a child who has just started can learn something from a fisherman with over 50 years of experience! The meeting between two enthusiasts, regardless of their level, will always bring new learning experiences.

It is also a way to correct any errors in technique that have been kept for too long and to obtain areas of progression that one would not have found oneself. I think, for example, of fishing in cluttered environments, which, whether with lures or fly fishing, requires perfect technique but gives access to very low-pressure fishing areas. This is especially true with fly fishing, where I will teach you casts allowing you to fish in places where you never thought you would be able to place your fly correctly!

The confirmed angler inevitably seeks to beat his personal records. Even if I cannot guarantee the capture of a trophy fish during your guidance, I will ensure that you are taken to the areas they frequent and give you all the keys to allow you to achieve your goals. Being myself obsessed with hunting trophy fish of any species, I will always seek to have you catch the most beautiful specimens of our beautiful Morlaix Country!
