The Morlaix Country, a paradise for fishermen!

Between Trégor to the East and Haut-Léon to the West lies the pearl of North Finistère, the Morlaix Country and its Bay.

Formed by the estuaries of the various rivers in the area, many call it the "most beautiful bay in the world", and that's understandable!

Dotted with islands, it offers breathtaking scenery and endless fishing opportunities. The coast is wild and very well preserved, with the coastline being very accessible compared to many other places. Fishing is possible here all year round as long as the weather permits, as the sea has plenty to offer us, from the hottest summer to the coldest winter.

Several estuaries flow into it, providing abundant food for all its inhabitants. These areas offer a beautiful transition between marine and freshwater environments and are the passage for the ocean ambassadors of our rivers, namely the Great Migratory Fish.

European eels and sea lampreys are present, one to grow and the other to spawn.

The shad is present but not abundant. To encounter it, I'll meet you on the banks of the Aulne and the Blavet. This fish from the tarpon family is a superb opponent!

Sea trout is well present in several rivers of the Bay (Douron, Dourduff, Penzé) and regularly enhances our trout outings in rivers.

Finally, the rivers of Morlaix are home to a population of the king of French fish, the Atlantic Salmon. This rare fish is still present in several of our basins for our greatest pleasure. A very important element of the French fishing heritage that many anglers have forgotten!

The species that can be caught during our shore fishing trips will mainly be, of course, sea bass, but also wrasse, mackerel, horse mackerel, garfish, as well as cephalopods, cuttlefish, squid, and sometimes even octopus..

The Bay of Morlaix is extremely rich in biodiversity. Migratory birds are numerous, especially in winter, and the exposed sands during high tides leave no doubt about the natural richness of the place.

The Bay of Morlaix on a calm day, magnificent!

On the freshwater side...

The other, lesser-known wealth of the Morlaix Country is, of course, its dense network of waterways.

There are a total of 14 rivers, all of the 1st fishing category, accessible to us in a very short time. All these rivers are well, or even very well, populated with wild brown trout of local origin, as no restocking is carried out in the rivers of the area!

This guarantees encountering only high-quality wild specimens, much to the delight of anglers.

So, it's the perfect place for your family or friends' holidays.

 There's no shortage of activities!

Many hikes are possible, whether it's coastal walks, in the nearby Monts d'Arrée, or on accessible islands..

Water sports, sports, cultural, or naturalist activities are countless. There are plenty of accommodations available (camping, lodges, camper van areas...) that I'd be happy to point out to you!

Finally, the local gastronomy is one of the reasons why I love this region so much. You'll find many high-quality producers (oysters, meat, vegetables...) around the Bay, markets to make even the pickiest eater drool, and of course, many excellent restaurants!

Moreover, upon request, I can provide you with these superb products for a picnic during your guided tour.

Young and old will find everything they need for an unforgettable holiday that you'll soon find yourself unable to do without!
