Fishing for Salmonids

How beautiful are our rivers in the Pays de Morlaix!

The Queffleuth, the Penzé, the Dourduff, the Douron, the Jarlot, the Pennelée...

A long list, but that's how it is with us! We are lucky to have a variety of high-quality rivers and streams in our area. It is entirely possible to fish several different rivers in a single day!

All are populated by beautiful wild brown trout. Their profile as a "spate river" makes them exciting to fish. It's possible to fish dry flies from March until closure. Although the fish are modest in size, they are very numerous, sometimes leading to catches of several dozen fish when they are "on"!

So, it's a paradise for the noble art of fly fishing, which I would love to show you in my company.

With over 15 years of experience in fly fishing, I will teach you the right techniques to fish in all types of environments, even the most challenging! The variety of stretches I have to introduce you to allows for adaptation to different skill levels.

I know this from experience, as I clean the riverbanks every week with the "Au fil de la Penzé" association to ensure you have a pleasant fishing experience during guiding!

Une alternative très efficace que je pratique depuis longtemps est bien sûr la pêche au toc en nymphe, peu utilisée chez nous mais ravageuse et que me ferai un plaisir de vous présenter !

During high water, spin fishing allows for catching large fish and benefits from very interesting activity periods, although less suitable for dry fly fishing. However, beautiful trout over 40 cm can be caught here. Sensations guaranteed with Ultra Light tackle!

Migratives fish

In some of these rivers, we are fortunate to see populations of large migratory fish such as salmon and sea trout.

Spring salmon average 70 to 90 cm in size and weigh 3 to 6 kg. Grilse or summer salmon measure between 50 and 70 cm. I fish for them with both bait and fly, depending on the current conditions.

Hunting for these wonderful fish is difficult but fascinating. The Penzé and the Léguer are my favorite rivers to fish for this emblematic species of Breton rivers.

Finally, many sea trout ascend these rivers. Many... But very wary! They often enrich the evening trout catches on dry flies and can exceed 50 cm.

At last, the shads come back in large numbers in the spring to certain basins like the Aulne and the Blavet. A very powerful and enjoyable fish to catch with lures or fly fishing, whose migration I wouldn't miss for anything in the world !

So many rivers and fish that I know by heart and will gladly show you!
